Jobs in the EU: Several Croats Among the 200 Highest Paid

Ahead of the upcoming referendum on Great Britain's exit from the EU, the British eurosceptic party UKIP published a study showing how highly the bureaucracy in Brussels lives on the scale, reports the Patria News Agency.

They compiled a list of the 200 highest-paid jobs in the European Union institutions, and among them are several Croats. The highest-paid Croat in the European Union institutions is the judge of the Court of Justice of the European Union, Siniša Rodin, whose annual salary with basic pay and other allowances amounts to 284,238 euros, placing him in 53rd place on the list.

Also on the list is European Commissioner and member of the Commission, Neven Mimica, who is in 78th place with a basic salary and allowances amounting to 276,943 euros.

Croatian judge of the General Court of the EU, Vesna Tomljenović, with 262,646 euros, is in 130th place, and Croatian member of the European Court of Auditors, Neven Mates, with 244,285 euros, is in 174th place. In first place is the former president of the Court of Justice of the European Union, Greek Vassilios Skouris, whose annual basic salary including allowances is 350,508 euros, writes Index.
