Traveled by bike: Jasmin Grebić arrived in Barcelona after 22 days

Bosnian cyclist Jasmin Grebić, who started his journey by bike on July 1st this year, arrived in Barcelona yesterday afternoon, writes the Spanish media La Vanguardia. Grebić arrived at Sant Jaume square after covering 2,300 kilometers, reports the Patria news agency.

Grebić arrived in Barcelona after 22 days, and the Spanish prepared a welcome for him, and he thanked them by saying he was happy to have achieved his goal. He explained that he did not doubt himself because, as part of his preparations, he covered between 60 and 120 kilometers every day. The only concern was to keep the bicycle intact and to overcome administrative obstacles.

During his adventurous journey, Grebić passed through seven countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, France, Monaco, and Spain. He managed this with the financial assistance of the City of Sarajevo and other donors.

He expressed his wish for other significant cyclists to make a return route, from Barcelona to Sarajevo, in order to strengthen the ties between the two cities that have a sister city status.

Marta Carranza, the commissioner for sports at the Barcelona City Council, received Grebić, stating that his achievement is historic and that it would be excellent if a group of cyclists realized the Barcelona - Sarajevo route.

Grebić is a member of the Trek cycling club. In just four days, he covered almost 600 kilometers, and he reached his destination a day earlier than planned.
