Mechanized wide-face complex commissioned at RMU "Breza"

Nermin Nikšić, Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH, Elvedin Grabovica, General Director of JP Elektroprivreda BiH, and Suad Ćosić, Director of RMU "Breza" today commissioned a new mechanized wide-face complex SHP TAGOR with an EICKHOFF SL-300 cutting machine in the Kamenica mine of RMU "Breza", reports the Patria News Agency.

The new mechanized wide-face complex is an investment by JP Elektroprivreda BiH, realized within the framework of the recapitalization process of mines within the EPBiH Concern.

 - For Elektroprivreda BiH, this is one of the most significant projects in the recapitalization process of mines and the most valuable to date, realized with the primary goal of humanizing work in the mines and increasing the safety level of miners - stated Dr. Elvedin Grabovica, General Director of JP Elektroprivreda BiH on the occasion of commissioning the wide-face complex at RMU "Breza".

Grabovica emphasized that Elektroprivreda BiH invested 19.5 million KM in this project and added that the miners of Breza, the miners of the Kamenica mine, are now working with the most modern equipment in the world.

- Of the planned 32.5 million KM in RMU "Breza", more than 28 million KM has been invested, and talks have already been initiated with the Government of FBiH and the relevant ministry regarding a new four-year investment cycle in the Concern's mines, which should start after the completion of the current recapitalization program, said General Director Dr. Elvedin Grabovica.
 
Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH Nermin Nikšić underlined the significant contribution of the new wide-face complex to humanizing the work of miners in Breza and stated:

- The number of injuries in the "Breza" Mine previously ranged between 30 and 40 per month, and in the last two months, that number has been reduced to 10 to 12. With the new face, as the miners told me, injuries are only possible in case of their clumsiness. Previously, it was possible to produce about 800 tons per day in the Kamenica mine. With the new face, it is possible to reach 1,500 tons - emphasized Prime Minister Nikšić.
 
Thanks to the new face, 1,300 miners of the "Breza" Mine have the opportunity to become leaders in underground exploitation in the region, stated the Director of RMU "Breza" Suad Ćosić, adding that the procurement of another similar complex is planned for RMU "Breza" in the next three years.

As part of the ceremony for commissioning the wide-face complex, flowers were laid and tribute was paid to all fallen miners, especially the miners of the Raspotočje mine.

At the ceremonial session of the Management of RMU "Breza", Dr. Grabovica and the Management of Elektroprivreda BiH were presented with letters of thanks for their contribution to improving the work of the Mine.

The new wide-face complex with a cutting machine with a capacity of at least 1,500 tons/day has been manufactured in accordance with the latest technological and technical achievements in mining and will create prerequisites for greater and cheaper coal production from underground exploitation in the next 10 years.

At the same time, it replaced the equipment that had been in use in the Kamenica mine since 1982.

RMU "Breza" invested 2 million KM of its own funds in the repair of the SHP THYSSEN wide-face equipment.
