Puljić wrote to the Archbishop of Paris: We who have experienced the horrors of war are particularly touched

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The President of the Bishops' Conference of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cardinal Vinko Puljić, sent a letter of solidarity and closeness today to the Archbishop of Paris, Msgr. Michel Aupetit, on the occasion of the fire at Notre Dame Cathedral.

"We are deeply shaken watching the cathedral in Paris burn. We who have experienced the horrors of war and so many burned churches are particularly touched by this event, as it reminds us of the horrors we have survived. Therefore, on behalf of the bishops, as well as the entire Church in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and especially on my own behalf, I express my solidarity and closeness with this pain," Puljić stated in the announcement.

He added that they are united in prayer to be "living stones of Christ's Church" in the celebration of Easter.

"Expressing our solidarity with you and the entire Church in France, we send wishes that the Risen Christ be a comfort and strength of faith for all of us in carrying our daily cross," reads the letter from Cardinal Puljić to the Archbishop of Paris, Aupetit.
