Cracks in the Počitelj Bridge and Expropriation Crime Cause Rift within HDZ BiH

Recently, FBiH Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić spoke on FACE TV with Senad Hadžifejzović about alleged crime in Autoceste FBiH, claiming that on one section of the highway in Žepče, land was purchased from three owners for around 36,000 KM, and only a month or two later, the same land was sold to Autoceste FBiH for 460,000 KM.

Nikšić did not talk about the current delays in the construction of Corridor Vc, nor about the crack in the structure of the bridge near Počitelj, which has not even been opened, and the damage is measured in millions of convertible marks, and it seems that the contractors still do not know how to resolve the incurred damage.

However, Nikšić questions how it is possible that the value of the land increased more than tenfold in such a short period and how it is possible that the buyers knew that the highway route would pass through that part, while the rest of the public and landowners did not know, thus selling their land so easily and cheaply.

But, the accusations against JP Autoceste Federacije BiH d.o.o. Mostar are not entirely unfounded and are incorrect. The procedure is carried out by municipal bodies, where court experts assess the land or real estate. Based on their assessments, the municipal body issues a decision according to which payments are made to the owners.

According to Patria's findings, JP Autoceste Federacije BiH d.o.o. Mostar has repeatedly tried to dispute the compensation amounts in competent courts, but the experiences have generally been negative, as the decisions of the municipal bodies were usually confirmed. It is not uncommon for larger amounts to be awarded in court in favor of citizens whose property was subject to expropriation.

Why is that so?

The answer can be found very easily.

The main reason for the information presented arose due to divisions within the HDZ of the Municipality of Žepče. Ivo Tadić, who left the HDZ and joined the majority in the Zenica-Doboj Canton, after learning that HDZ cadres participated in the expropriation process, namely the Mayor of the Municipality of Žepče Mato Zovko, former Federal Minister of Spatial Planning Josip Martić, and an employee of the Ministry of Spatial Planning Ljuba Tadić, forwarded the data to the Prime Minister of the FBiH Nermin Nikšić and accused them of being an organized criminal group.

“All this data was obtained from a close associate in the past period, a certain Katica Vranjković, whom the acting director of JP Autoceste Federacije BiH d.o.o. Mostar, Denis Lasić, appointed as his advisor. Vranjković previously worked as the head of the Procurement Department under international procedures,” points out our source from Autoceste FBiH.

And it seems that the holes in the bridge near Počitelj have also caused cracks within HDZ BiH.

Because, it is truly a wonder how Tadić (who left the HDZ) now has influence over all developments in JP Autoceste Federacije BiH d.o.o. Mostar through Katica Vranjković, while Denis Lasić, an HDZ cadre, has no knowledge of these activities.

It is therefore clear that this case is exclusively about the bickering of HDZ cadres, with both sides wanting to accuse the other for the rift within HDZ BiH.
