Puharić visited the landslide at Curine njive: The situation is alarming and requires urgent, extraordinary measures

(Patria) - Our responsibility is to show solidarity and unity in these difficult moments, and to provide support to families who, unfortunately, were forced to leave their homes due to the worsening situation at the landslide above the Širokača settlement, said the Mayor of Sarajevo Predrag Puharić, who visited the Curine njive site today.

Together with representatives of civil protection and the local community, the mayor was informed about the current situation on the ground, where several days of heavy rainfall have further aggravated the already risky situation, causing the activation of the landslide and the occurrence of floods.



- The situation is alarming and requires urgent, extraordinary measures and a synchronized response from all competent services. Only through joint and coordinated action can we mitigate the consequences and protect citizens and their property - said Puharić.

The situation at the landslide is being continuously monitored on the ground, with special attention focused on the water level of the Miljacka River and the supervision of the Bentbaša dam, in order to react in a timely manner to possible new threats.

The City of Sarajevo, in accordance with its competencies and possibilities, will remain involved in the further development of the situation and provide all necessary support to the endangered citizens.
