Shooting in Sarajevo: 24-year-old I.Č. wounded during unprofessional handling

In the Sarajevo neighborhood of Alipašino Polje, a firearm was used, resulting in a girl being wounded.

- At 5:15 PM, the Emergency Service informed the Ministry of Interior of Canton Sarajevo that their team had intervened at Trg Solidarnosti Street number 33, providing medical assistance to a female person injured by a firearm. A patrol of police officers was immediately dispatched to the scene, where they found the injured I.Č., born in 1992 from Sarajevo, and T. R., born in 1993 from Sarajevo. During the conversation, police officers learned that the injury most likely occurred during unprofessional handling of a firearm by T. R., who was brought to the official premises of the Novi Grad Police Station and is under police supervision – said the Ministry of Interior of Canton Sarajevo.

A pistol from which the shot was most likely fired was found nearby.

- The duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo was informed about the incident, and police officers will conduct an investigation. The injured person received medical assistance at the University Clinical Center Sarajevo, where it was determined that she sustained an unspecified degree of injury to her left leg – added the police.
