Gunfire was heard near the office of Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu on Wednesday morning, and two people have been arrested, reports the Patria News Agency.
The incident occurred near the entrance to Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul, an Ottoman-era building popular with tourists.
Turkish police arrested two armed individuals near the scene of the shooting, and there are no reports of injuries so far.
Ambulances were dispatched to the area around the palace following reports of gunfire, the daily "Hürriyet“ reported.
Police closed off surrounding roads, Reuters reported. Some local media reported an explosion also occurred, but there is no official confirmation of this.
Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu was in the capital, Ankara, at the time the information about the attack emerged and did not interrupt his speech, which was broadcast live on state television.
