First commemoration of the anniversary of the crime at the Dretelj camp

The Alliance of Camp Survivors in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Alliance of Associations of Camp Survivors of HNK, and the Association of Camp Survivors of Čapljina will mark the anniversary of the closure of the infamous Dretelj – Čapljina camp on Thursday, October 2nd this year, it was announced from the Alliance of Camp Survivors of BiH, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

This is the first time that the anniversary of the crime at the Dretelj camp, which was organized by the authorities of the Croatian Republic of Herceg Bosna in the nineties, is being commemorated.

Around 5,000 Bosniaks and Serbs passed through the Dretelj camp, who were subjected to torture, and a number of them were killed or disappeared.

The Alliance of Camp Survivors of BiH notes that transportation for journalists has been arranged. Registration is required no later than September 30th, by 3 PM. Departure is from the plateau in front of the National Museum in Sarajevo on October 2nd at 6:30 AM, reports NAP.
