At the World Athletics Championships, which began today in Beijing, Amel Tuka qualified for the semifinals of the 800-meter race, reports the Patria news agency.
In the morning qualifiers, Tuka took first place in his group with a time of 1:46.12. The semifinals of the 800-meter race are scheduled for Sunday (August 23), and the final is on Tuesday, August 25.
Amel Tuka has the best world result this season with a time of 1:42.51.
