First research on children's dietary habits in BiH

The Council of Ministers of BiH has given its consent to the Food Safety Agency of BiH to organize and conduct research on the dietary habits of children in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the period from 2018 to 2023, in accordance with the methodology of the European Food Safety Agency – EFSA.

The Food Safety Agency of BiH is tasked with preparing the necessary documentation and completing the electronic tender application to EFSA by October 13 this year.

In this way, BiH joins the European Union countries participating in the research on dietary habits, which provides a detailed picture of the consumption of specific foods by age groups of the population. The research will cover three age groups of children from three months to nine years of age and will be conducted in accordance with EFSA's prescribed methodology.

Bosnia and Herzegovina has not conducted such research to date. Last year, BiH applied for the first time to EFSA's public call for research on the dietary habits of the adult population in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project was approved and a contract was signed with EFSA for the implementation of this research, reports the Patria agency.
