FIRST TIME - UN Sends Protest Note to BiH Due to Nationalist Outbursts by Dronjić!

SARAJevo, (Patria) - For the first time, Bosnia and Herzegovina has received a protest note from the UN, due to Ivica Dronjić, former ambassador to the UN, a cadre of Dragan Čović, who was removed from the ambassadorial post by Željko Komšić, Chairman of the Presidency of BiH. The note was sent due to Dronjić's nationalist outbursts.

“The Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Bosnia and Herzegovina wishes to inform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the statement made by Ambassador Ivica Dronjić during an interview on September 23, 2019, on TV N1 (Dan uživo), and to request clarification.

During the interview, Dronjić mentioned the nationality of the UNDP Resident Representative in BiH with the intention of negatively presenting the alleged rating of Bosnia and Herzegovina within the United Nations. We wish to emphasize that as an organization that places great importance on its relationship with all its 193 member states, and is based on the assumption of full respect for equality and human rights, we consider such statements unacceptable. Bosnia and Herzegovina is an extremely valuable partner and contributes to the work of the United Nations.

The United Nations and Bosnia and Herzegovina have also established and maintain a very successful partnership in developing programs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has resulted in a total investment of 250 million dollars to improve the lives of BiH citizens in the last four years.

We sincerely hope that Ambassador Dronjić's statement is an isolated case and does not represent the official position of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Council of Ministers of BiH,” the document obtained by the Patria news agency states.

Otherwise, Dronjić is still an employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, and the competent authorities in this ministry will certainly have to take adequate measures, considering that BiH has received a warning note from the UN.
