First joint visit to the site of the former "Čelebići" camp

Representatives of the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Republika Srpska and the Alliance of Camp Detainees in Bosnia and Herzegovina today visited the site of the former Čelebići camp for the first time, located in the municipality of Konjic, where camp detainees of Serb nationality were held.

Representatives of the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in RS, Head of the Council of Europe Office in BiH Meri En Henesi (Mary Ann Hennessey), and representatives of the Alliance of Camp Detainees in BiH addressed those present.

The "Čelebići" camp was open from May to December 1992, and held about 400 detainees of Serb nationality, 16 of whom were killed. The Hague Tribunal convicted Zdravko Mucić, Hazim Delić, and Esad Landžo for crimes committed in this camp, writes Patria.
