"First of March": This is the end of SNSD's rule, we confirmed the strength of "Domovina"

The "First of March" coalition welcomes the preliminary results of the 2014 General Elections, and the fact that without counting postal votes, SNSD is already clearly losing key positions in the Republika Srpska entity, and we will soon know how much they have fallen at the level of legislative authorities, states this coalition, according to a statement from the Coalition, reported by the BiH news agency Patria. 

"We also welcome the election of "Domovina" candidate Ramiz Salkić for the position of Vice-President of Republika Srpska," emphasize "First of March". "First of March" expects the passing of candidates to the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the joint list of returnees, which participated at this level under the SDA list, and a sure growth in the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska entity from the "Domovina" coalition list, which will include candidates from various parties within the coalition, confirming the respect for political pluralism and the strength of the coalition.

The "First of March" coalition calls on the media and representatives of civil society organizations to avoid making final conclusions about the results of "Domovina" until the results are confirmed and a large number of votes from the BiH diaspora are counted. We also welcome the high turnout and interest of citizens in the electoral process, according to the press release.

"The fact remains that the final verdict and defeat of the SNSD candidate, Željka Cvijanović, will be delivered by the votes of returnees, refugees, and displaced persons, and for this reason, we congratulate the Bosniak and Croat communities in Republika Srpska on their readiness to jointly deal with those who sought to ban our organization's activities.

We expect the elected representatives of "Domovina" to engage as soon as possible in negotiations on forming a parliamentary majority in the Republika Srpska entity, and through this, agree on solutions to some key issues, from discrimination in education in Konjević-Polje and Vrbanjci, the construction of a memorial center in Prijedor and other places, to resolving issues of protecting the property of returnees, and their status issues such as the discrimination faced by civilian victims of war. We have a historic opportunity to change the situation in which this country finds itself, our generation has a responsibility for the days ahead," emphasize "First of March".
