March 1st starts with mobilization of returnees for the 2016 local elections

Today, representatives of the March 1st coalition, Mirnes Zahirović and Edin Ikanović, visited Zvornik, where they met with representatives of local SDP, SDA, SBB, and DF organizations, to discuss joint action in mobilizing the Bosniak returnee community for the 2016 local elections, reports the Patria News Agency.

- Zvornik is a municipality with 31 councilors, and currently only SDA has three councilors from parties that gather returnees, although both SBB and SDP were very close to crossing the electoral threshold in the last elections.

Through joint work, which would be based on programmatic gathering, concrete solutions, and a few serious projects that we would offer to the local community, we can show that we have matured and that we are ready to work on things that help returnees and bring good to all citizens, said Ikanović.

- Support for joint work and activating young people in the community was also given by the representative in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nedim Čivić, and I am convinced that with good preparations, involving all returnee settlements, we can make a difference in Zvornik.

We also presented an action plan, which includes candidate preparation, monitor training, work with internally displaced persons and our people abroad, and I believe that everyone will recognize the good intentions that people gathered around March 1st have, when it comes to political participation, concluded Ikanović, it was announced from the Coalition.
