March 1: Federal authorities must protect parents from Vrbanjci

The coalition "March 1" demands that federal authorities cover all costs incurred by parents from Vrbanjci and Konjević Polje due to the fact that they organised a protest against discrimination in education in the RS entity, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- We cannot expect anyone to compensate for all the sanctions and everything that parents from Kotor Varoš and Bratunac are suffering, except for the federal authorities. After all, Annex 7 is the Agreement on Return, and if we are aware that the RS institutions are doing everything within their power to halt the return and make survival unbearable, the authorities from the FBiH must provide funds for the continuation of the struggle for survival. I am convinced that rulings establishing discrimination will soon arrive. We have disputes before basic courts, and we also have an appeal before the Constitutional Court of BiH - said Almir Salihović, coordinator of the "March 1" coalition.

- Many associate us with various political factions. I want you to hear that we are a movement of young people, both returnees and numerous human rights activists from across the country. Perhaps these people are not so recognised in the media, but one thing is certain, we will fight to the end. Education in BiH must be reformed, when all citizens of this country realise that the struggle of Vrbanjci or Konjević Polje is a struggle for equality for all of us, then their protest will be recognised as the only tool in acting against exclusion and discrimination. We are the generation that is coming, we are ready to disrupt all agreements, if the interest of the people who have returned from Trebinje to Bosanski Novi is at stake - concluded Salihović.
