A Memorable First Day of School: Ilidža Municipality Organizes Reception for Over 760 First Graders

(Patria) - A reception for Ilidža's first graders was held today at the Square of the Fourth Motorized Brigade in the organization of the Ilidža Municipality.

This year, just like last year, the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina waved in the largest square in the Canton of Sarajevo.



In addition to the one on the flagpole, Ilidža's first graders assembled another flag of our homeland using cardboard and thus successfully completed their first school task.



The Ilidža Municipality once again ensured that the new generation of elementary school students remembers their first day of school and associates it with the symbols of our only homeland.



Naida Hota-Muminović, the Minister of Education of the Canton of Sarajevo, and Nermin Muzur, the Mayor of Ilidža Municipality, greeted the new first graders, their teachers, and numerous parents.



- We are not here today for ourselves, but for you, our dear first graders. We believe that this gathering, this unity, and this event will remain one of the most beautiful memories in your lives.



We want to show in this way how strong the first graders of Ilidža Municipality are when we gather them all in one place, and let that be a message for your entire lives.



The more we socialize, cooperate, and support each other, the stronger we will be, and consequently, our homeland Bosnia and Herzegovina will be stronger - said Mayor Muzur, who at the end wished the first graders many new friendships, new knowledge, and skills.



The relevant minister, Hota-Muminović, joined Mayor Muzur's sincere wishes.



- You will remember this special day throughout your lives. I wish you to make new friends and always have good teachers for your entire lives. I wish all teachers, educators, and parents a happy start to the new school year - said Hota-Muminović.



The gathering of first graders with mascots, singing and dancing with Elvir Lilo Hadžijamaković, along with a "pledge," was complemented by two musical performances by students of the Third Elementary School at the end of the reception. All 762 first graders received symbolic gifts prepared for them by the Ilidža Municipality.
