FIRST TITLE Anadolu Efes European Champion

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Anadolu Efes basketball players won their first European championship title, after defeating Barcelona 86-81 (15-22, 24-14, 26-22, 21-23) in the final of the final tournament in Cologne.

Anadolu Efes was led to this historic success by Vasilije Micić with 25 and Shane Larkin with 21 points, while Croatian national team player Krunoslav Simon scored four points in 28:31 minutes played, with three rebounds, two assists, and one steal. For Barcelona, Cory Higgins with 23 and Kyle Kuric with 18 points were the most effective, while Brandon Davies added 17 points with 11 rebounds.

This is the first European championship title for Anadolu Efes, which they reached in their second final appearance; they lost to CSKA Moscow two years ago.

Barcelona, on the other hand, remains with two titles won (2003, 2010) after their eighth final appearance.

Earlier on Sunday, Armani Exchange took third place by defeating CSKA 83-73 (20-23, 20-11, 20-23, 23-16).
