Prva gimnazija Zenica soon in a new guise: Government of ZDK and UNDP secure funds for insulation and new facade

(Patria) - Prime Minister of Zenica-Doboj Canton Nezir Pivić and Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Mirza Mušija attended the ceremonial academy on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the existence and work of Prva gimnazija in Zenica.

The oldest educational institution in Zenica, which has existed under the name gymnasium since November 7, 1945, has produced numerous top doctors, scientists, engineers, artists, and important people in all spheres of life not only of Zenica and Zenica-Doboj Canton, but of the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond.

Prime Minister Pivić emphasized that investment in education is a strategic goal and priority of the Government he leads, which they have demonstrated over the past two years through continuous investments in educational infrastructure, procurement of free textbooks for primary school students, and improvement of the material status of educators, whose salaries have been increased twice.

- This is certainly one of the best schools in ZDK and FBiH, which has produced a large number of professors, intellectuals, people who have marked this time that is behind us. I am sure that this school will continue to produce intellectuals in the future that every society needs. In line with this, we have dedicated a lot of attention this year to ensure that our gymnasium gets a new look, and we have secured significant funds that will provide complete insulation and a new facade for the gymnasium building, which will give a new face to this building. I hope that this school will continue with the successes it has had so far and be a symbol of the city as it is now - emphasized Prime Minister Pivić.

Next week, the signing of the contract for the execution of works, which will be financed by the Government of ZDK through the relevant ministry and UNDP, is planned.

The Government has secured KM 238,773.00, and UNDP has secured KM 133,602.00.

- Throughout these 80 years, the gymnasium has fulfilled its function and produced excellent generations of people who have spread the word not only about Zenica but about the entire canton around the world. These people have achieved great successes in various fields, and we are pleased to have such an educational institution as Prva gimnazija - emphasized Mušija.
