First two days of 2025 sunny, then prolonged snowfall

(Patria) - The first days of the new year 2025 will pass in stable weather conditions with above-average temperatures for this time of year.

Mostly sunny with little to moderate cloud cover will prevail. Only in basins and along river courses in central areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina, prolonged fog and low cloud cover will cause significantly lower daytime air temperatures compared to the rest of the country.

The possibility of sunny periods in this area is low.

Minimum air temperatures in Bosnia will vary between -4°C and 2°C, in the south of Herzegovina from 2°C to 6°C. Highest daytime temperatures mostly between 4°C and 10°C. In the south of the country, temperatures between 10°C and 15°C. In areas with prolonged fog, maximum temperatures up to 4°C.

From Friday (03.01.), a frontal disturbance will cause unstable weather that will first affect the western parts of our country.

On Saturday, precipitation is likely. Snow in the mountains, and in lower areas mostly sleet or snow. In the south of the country, rain is expected, which could be heavy.

Unstable weather with precipitation will persist until Thursday, when a short-term stabilization of weather conditions is forecast. According to available synoptic charts, a new wave of precipitation is possible during the weekend (11th and 12th of January).
