Protest rally for Dženan and David in Munich: It is sad that we have to seek justice in other countries

MUNICH, (Patria) - Several hundred people today responded to peaceful protests held in Munich to show support for the Memić family from Sarajevo and the Dragičević family from Banja Luka, who under still unexplained circumstances lost their sons Dženan and David. Dženan's death has been shrouded in mystery since February 8, 2016, and David's body was found at the end of March this year in a small river in Banja Luka. Both families claim the young men were killed and their deaths covered up.

The gathering was also attended by the fathers of the young men, Muriz Memić and Davor Dragičević. In his address to those present, Memić repeated that he needs a courtroom, not the streets, to prove justice. The trial being conducted at the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo for a traffic accident is nearing its end, and the family claims it is all a farce by the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office. Memić also informed those present about shocking details of the disappearance and concealment of evidence in the Dženan Memić case. 

- How is it possible that we have multiple conflicting expert opinions on the same piece of material evidence. For the same piece of paint, the same expert gives two different findings. When the defense requested an expert examination, it was established that the piece of paint had disappeared. The hotel recording was deliberately deleted, and there is material evidence for that. My family, friends, and lawyer have gone through various obstructions, but I will never give up. I am sorry that besides my own country, I have to seek justice on the streets of other countries - said Memić. 

Davor Dragičević once again stated that David was tortured, raped, brutally murdered, and thrown into a sewer. 

- I will not give up, I know who the organizers, perpetrators, and accomplices are. I do not mention names because the authorities in Munich have not allowed me to. I will go all the way. If David's murder is not resolved by October, the elections will not be held - said Dragičević.

The gathering was also addressed by Dženan's sister Arijana, who read a letter to her brother. 

- There are so many moments I want to share with you, but you are not here. We were supposed to go through so much more together, we had countless plans, but now you are gone. I always miss you. I miss your scent, your look, your smile... You are terribly missed. Days have passed, months will pass, and years will pass, every night the same movie repeats. You and I meet often, somewhere between earth and sky, in dreams, and I mourn every time I wake up. I want to convey my thoughts and dreams to you, and in them tell you that I love you as much as the day we said to each other: 'See you...'".

Support rallies for the Dragičević and Memić families are also being held outside Bosnia and Herzegovina, with one held in Vienna. Joint protests were also held on May 15 in Sarajevo, and a large protest rally is scheduled for July 7 in Banja Luka, which the Memić family will also attend. 

For almost three months, protests for David have been held at Trg Krajine, with citizens demanding the truth about the death of this young man.
