PROTESTS IN SARAJEVO Same demands at KS Prosecutor's Office, youth demand justice and truth

(Patria) - Today marks the eighth protest of youth and citizens, and the column is moving along the main road towards the building of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office.

Samir Hrnjica, unofficial representative of the organizers, called on everyone to head towards the KS Prosecutor's Office building.

"We are going to the Prosecutor's Office to present all the demands. We are not fools, they can't fool us anymore," said Hrnjica.

As the procession passed through the city, citizens joined the demonstrators.

Support from neighboring Serbia is also visible at the protests, with one lady holding a banner: "For Sarajevo, from Zemun".

A large gathering was held on February 21st, when demands were read out for an effective investigation into the tram accident in which Erdoan Morankić tragically died.

Participants arrived at Radićeva Street, where the KS Prosecutor's Office is located, and are chanting: "Justice" and "Come out".

They called for employees to appear at the windows, which did not happen. Then they chanted "Murderers", "Get out".

The fathers of the children who tragically died addressed the crowd in front of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office.

Muriz Memić, father of Dženan Memić, said that ten years have passed since his son's death.

"Politics controls the judiciary. They lie that they are not political. Politics appoints all chief prosecutors and commissioners. These people will not leave power easily. Thanks to this youth," said Memić, who called on Chief Prosecutor Melika Dugalija to resign.

The fathers of the tragically deceased Džejla Drapić, Hamza Marevac, and Esma Kaljanac also addressed the crowd.

Student Lamija Hadžimusić spoke. In her emotional address, she noted that the student dormitory at Bjelave is not safe for students' lives.

"The state should start serving the citizens, not the government, ministries, this or that. Stop the tragedies, start working. Start working, or we will start judging you," said the student.

Kerim Žuga spoke on behalf of high school students.

"Your demands have been delivered, what are you waiting for. Give us the truth, not silence. Give us dismissals, because perhaps hope will come from that. Name those responsible for these unfortunate events. Name the director of the Student Center, stop nepotism. We demand justice," said Žuga.
