Journalists' protests in Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Journalists from several newsrooms in Bosnia and Herzegovina will hold peaceful protests in Sarajevo on Monday, following increasing pressure on media workers in the country, reports the Patria News Agency.

A group of FK Sarajevo fans forced a journalist from the web portal Radio Sarajevo on Friday evening to delete a text about a fan of that club who was arrested and convicted in Belarus for drug possession, while just a few days earlier, Oslobođenje journalist Gordana Katana from Banja Luka was under strong pressure due to opinions she expressed on her private Facebook profile regarding some ruling politicians.

This is the second protest by journalists in Sarajevo in the past year, after journalists protested in August last year due to an attack on their colleague Vladimir Kovačević from BN Television from Banja Luka.

Other cases of endangering journalists' rights in BiH have also been recorded. 

On Monday, journalists will gather in front of the FK Sarajevo headquarters in Titova Street in Sarajevo at 12 PM, from where they will proceed to the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton and then to the State Parliament, demanding greater protection for media workers.
