PROTEST Citizens demand members of the BiH Presidency renounce their immunity

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Members of ReSTART BiH gathered today opposite the BiH Presidency building. These are the sixth protests held in the past few months in front of various institutions, including the OHR, the US Embassy, and the EU Delegation. 

The citizens' demands to the members of the BiH Presidency are: 

1. We demand that the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina urgently publish a special report on the progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina towards full membership in the NATO alliance, explain the reasons for slowing down this process, and undertake all activities to fulfill the remaining conditions within the next 3 (three) months;

2. In order to fulfill the international obligations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we demand that the BiH Presidency make a decision on how to exercise the competencies of the BiH Presidency under point 5.3.h) of the BiH Constitution in order to regulate coordination with international and non-governmental organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and directly involve citizens in the reform process in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

3. We call on the BiH Presidency to organize an international conference on human rights and civil liberties in which not only BiH institutions but also citizens and non-governmental organizations will participate;

4. We demand that the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina invite all institutions and political subjects in Bosnia and Herzegovina to respect the exclusive competencies of the BiH Presidency and invite them to refrain from holding any official meetings, including with international actors, at which issues within the competence of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina are discussed, especially contrary to the decisions already made by the BiH Presidency (such as membership in the NATO alliance) or to submit all initiatives for new decisions to the BiH Presidency for consideration;

5. We call on the BiH Presidency to commit to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina by a special decision to renounce their immunity regarding criminal liability for publicly spoken words during their mandate;

The gathered citizens carried banners with clear messages: "Human rights, not a new genocide", "We want to go to Europe, we don't want to go to Russia", "Ban on political activity for Dodik, Izetbegović and Čović", "You signed the ANP, invite NATO to the Drina", "No negotiations on state property".
