Body of Irishman who fell from ship's mast into the sea found

After a multi-hour search, which began at 3 AM, divers found the body of the missing Irish citizen in the port of Split. The body should be recovered from the sea soon, reports the Patria News Agency.

Around 2:45 AM, the Irishman climbed the mast of a docked ship on Obala kneza Domagoja and fell into the sea. His disappearance was reported to the police afterwards.

The tearful friends of the unfortunate Irishman were with the police officers on the shore the entire time, awaiting the inevitable bad news. They were not in the mood to talk to journalists.

Police and Port Authority employees searched the area. Divers were sent into the sea to search the bottom at the spot where the Irishman fell into the water. Emergency medical services were also present at the scene just in case, writes Index.
