Cannabis plants found in Zenica

Police officers of the Criminal Police Sector of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, in cooperation with officers of the Criminal Police Department of Police Administration I in Zenica, undertook enhanced measures and activities to suppress and prevent the possession and unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs. Based on operational knowledge, a search of the wider area of the localities Gornji Brist, Podbrežje, and Zmajevac was carried out, and during that time, in the locality of Gornji Brist, in an inaccessible wooded area owned by the state, a plantation of Indian cannabis was found on Tuesday, August 30, reports the Patria agency.

An investigation was carried out at the scene, and it was determined that there were a total of 17 plants of the mentioned species, ranging in height from 17 to 132 cm. Given that the location where the plants were planted is not suitable for observation in order to identify the person who planted them, police officers seized the mentioned plants, which will be subject to necessary expert examinations.

Police officers continue to gather operational information in order to document the committed criminal offense and identify the person who planted the mentioned plants, thereby committing the criminal offense of "Unauthorized Production and Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs," under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
