New generation of young leaders promoted, including Mirza Ustamujić

The Council of Europe promoted a new generation of young leaders from the Western Balkans in Sarajevo yesterday, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Over the past year, the Council of Europe, in cooperation with the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence, has educated over 30 young political leaders from the region's countries within the Regional Academy for Democracy.

Certificates were presented on behalf of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjørn Jagland, at the closing ceremony in Sarajevo by the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Ruggero Corrias, who emphasized that he is particularly pleased that among the young people who want and work for a better perspective of the Western Balkan countries.

One of the participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina whose work and potential were recognized by the Council of Europe is Mirza Ustamujić, a representative in the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The closing ceremony was also attended by Mary Ann Hennessy, Head of the Council of Europe Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
