Promotion of the book 'Preko praga' by Bishop Grigorije, which reconciles the peoples of Herzegovina

The book ''Preko praga'' by the Bishop of Zahumlje-Herzegovina and the Littoral, Grigorije, will be held today at the Bishop's Palace in Mostar at 8 PM. The book will be discussed by academician Dr. Enes Karić, writer and professor from Sarajevo, Dr. Vlaho Bogišić, lexicographer and writer from Zagreb, Dr. Dragan Kovač, physician and writer from Trebinje, and the author, Bishop Grigorije.

The book ''Preko praga'' was published on April 28 by the Belgrade publishing house "Laguna", and so far it has only been promoted in Belgrade. In just two months, the book has seen its fourth edition. 

''Preko praga'' is a collection of short stories about the fates of ordinary people in the Herzegovina region at the end of the last century.

''This book in a way represents my cry for the differences of the peoples in Herzegovina to be respected, differences that are good and should not be erased," said the Bishop of Zahumlje-Herzegovina and the Littoral, Grigorije, presenting his collection of stories "Preko praga" in the crypt of the Temple of Saint Sava in Belgrade.

At "Laguna," they emphasize that Bishop Grigorije, with his melancholic collection of stories "Preko praga," joins the ranks of gifted writers from Bosnia and Herzegovina who, through their prose, continue the best tradition of storytellers, from Petar Kočić to Zuko Džumhur, Ivo Andrić, or Meša Selimović. 

"An exceptional psychological portraitist, the authorial voice in this book rises above the unfortunate divisions among the people, crossing the narrow and selfish threshold of one's own home, faith, and nation, and gives us, with every line of his prose, to know that he will follow Andrić's thought: 'The greatest mountain a man must cross is the threshold of his own home'", they state at the publishing house ''Laguna''. 

Bishop Grigorije has so far published the books "Dolazi čas i već je nastao" (sermons and conversations, 2004), "Lazar" (novella, 2008), "Priča o starom kralju" (novella, 2009), and "Radost života" (columns, 2010). 

The moderator of tonight's promotion is Sanja Bjelica-Šagovnović, a journalist from Mostar, reports NAP.
