Promotion of the book 'I am Alen' held in a full hall of BKC in Sarajevo

(Patria) - The promotion of the book "I am Alen", an autobiographical novel by Alen Muhić, was held tonight at the Bosnian Cultural Center (BKC) in Sarajevo, taking place in a full hall of BKC in a highly emotional atmosphere.

A special, positive energy was felt in the audience, which was also witnessed by the promoters who highlighted the essence of this book. The promoters, Esma Palić, psychologist and employee of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, Ajna Jusić, president of the Association Forgotten Children of War, law professor Ermin Kuka, and Bosnian-Herzegovinian actor Almir Omerović, along with moderator Emela Burdžović, agreed that "I am Alen" is not a book about hatred or anger, but a work that speaks about love, family, and the values that everyone chooses through life. They particularly emphasized that the book promotes the idea that love is a decision, as well as acceptance, of oneself, but also of the other.

As was pointed out, Alen's testimony does not speak about a burden, but about the possibility for society to recognize and accept the identity of a child born because of war, crime, and rape, what is often called the "enemy's child." This is precisely where the special strength of this book lies.

The author himself addressed those present at the end, expressing his greatest gratitude to his father Muharem Muhić, emphasizing that without the love and support of his parents and sisters, he would not be what he is today.

The evening was closed on an emotional note, when the entire hall of BKC, together with the choir of the Elementary School "Ćamil Sijarić" from Sarajevo, sang the song "Just so there is no war," which left a strong impression on all present.

The organizers of this major Sarajevo promotion were the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, the Association Forgotten Children of War, and author Alen Muhić, in cooperation with the Bosnian Cultural Center Sarajevo.
