Prolonged release of test digital signal

The Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH, in cooperation with three public broadcasters, announced the release of a test digital signal for September 29, 2016, for the areas of Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Mostar. All technical and organizational prerequisites for this event were secured, however, the Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH received a letter from the Radio-Television of Republika Srpska proposing to prolong this term and postpone the test release of the digital signal to the first half of October.

Without delving into the reasons for such a request, and in order to maintain correct relations between the Ministry of Communications and Transport and all public broadcasters, as important participants in the digitalization process, the Ministry accepted the proposal of RTRS to postpone the test release of the digital signal to the first half of October this year.

- We note that at the meeting between Minister Ismir Jusko and the general directors of the three public broadcasters, Belmin Karamehmedović from BHRT, Draško Milinović from RTRS, and Džemal Šabić from FTV, held on September 1, 2016, it was agreed that the test release of the digital signal would be carried out by the end of the month.

The Ministry, as the holder of the entire digitalization project in BiH, once again emphasizes that all technical and organizational conditions for the release of the test signal and the completion of the first phase of digitalization have been met and that citizens, as end-users of the programs of public RTV services in the areas of Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Mostar, will certainly receive the test digital signal in their homes in the first half of October.

The public will be informed in a timely manner about the date of the test digital signal release for the areas of Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Mostar - it was announced from the Ministry of Transport.
