Deadline extended for subsidising electricity consumption for lowest-income categories

(Patria) - The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at today's session in Mostar, amended the Decision on
implementing measures to reduce electricity costs for households and stimulate energy
efficiency, extending its application deadline until 30 June 2025.

The Decision stipulates that the right to subsidies is granted to certain categories with the lowest incomes, pensioners with minimum pensions, and beneficiaries of permanent financial assistance who have issued decisions from competent services and social welfare centres in the FBiH. The basic criterion for the subsidy is electricity consumption, which must be below the average (less than 268 kWh per month at JP Elektroprivreda BiH d.d. Sarajevo, or less than 348 kWh at JP Elektroprivreda HZHB d.d. Mostar).

Incidentally, the Decision on implementing measures to reduce electricity costs for households and stimulate energy efficiency has been in effect since 2011, with the average number of subsidy recipients per year amounting to around 70,000.
