Deadline Extended for Final Bids for "Vranduk" Hydropower Plant

At the request of companies and consortia pre-qualified in the first phase of the International Public Call (tender) for the construction of the "Vranduk" Hydropower Plant and the recommendation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB), the deadline for submitting final bids has been extended to 11.11.2014. The original deadline for submission and opening of bids was 07.10.2014, it was announced by JP Elektroprivreda BiH, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

- The Management of Elektroprivreda BiH, respecting the requests of pre-qualified consortia and companies for an extension, which confirms their interest in Elektroprivreda BiH's priority hydropower facility, its complexity and the seriousness of their approach to it, as well as the recommendations of the EBRD and EIB, has decided to extend the deadline for submitting final bids also to avoid any potential use of this significant project for pre-election purposes - emphasize this company.

The "Vranduk" Hydropower Plant is the first hydropower project to be realized in the last 30 years, and its use for daily political purposes, along with the possible politically motivated dissemination of false information, could harm a project of importance for the entire economy of BiH, with consequences that would inevitably be reflected beyond the scope of Elektroprivreda BiH's operations.

The request for additional time to prepare final bids for the International Public Call (tender), which includes the design, production, delivery and installation of equipment, construction, testing and commissioning of the "Vranduk" Hydropower Plant, is also a confirmation of the high degree of professionalism of Elektroprivreda BiH's expert team in preparing the tender documentation and executing the tasks for the commencement of the construction of the first hydropower plant on the Bosna River.

In the first phase of the International Call (tender) for the construction of the "Vranduk" Hydropower Plant, the following were qualified:

The International Public Call for the construction of the "Vranduk" Hydropower Plant is being carried out according to the procurement procedures of international financial institutions, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank, which are financing the construction of the Hydropower Plant with 63.5 million euros, it was announced, reports Patria.
