(Patria) - The protest column, an hour and a half after setting off from the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, arrived in front of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, but without stopping. The column continued along Radićeva Street and then along Maršala Tita Street.
The column, with thousands of participants, is moving very slowly, and citizens are joining them along the way as the column passes through Sarajevo's thoroughfares.
The column occasionally stops to allow the last participants to catch up, and they stopped in Radićeva Street for this reason.
The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office is conducting an investigation into the tragic traffic accident, and on Wednesday, February 25th, Chief Cantonal Prosecutor Meliha Dugalija will address the public, given that the investigation is proceeding in multiple directions, extensive documentation is being collected from several institutions, and some unexpected circumstances have emerged, such as the non-existent tram footage. The last recording was made on November 29th, 2025.
The column then stopped in front of the Aria Center, where parents whose children lost their lives in tragic ways or under still undetermined circumstances addressed the crowd.
Youth representative Ismihana Kukuruz read out the demands, the first of which was freedom of assembly, an efficient investigation into the tram accident, and expert examination to be conducted by foreign specialists.
"Regarding the investigation, it must be determined whether there were any unauthorized interventions on the tram since the day of the accident. The Prosecutor's Office must conduct a broader investigation into the situation at GRAS. We need the rule of law. We are telling Adnan that he is not alone. Our next demand is accountability. The KS Assembly should vote for a new Government as soon as possible. Our demand is also safety. The KS Government must undertake the renovation of public transport, with the appointment of professional staff. The authorities in KS must provide GRAS with everything necessary for the safe transport of citizens. It is terrible that the tram that caused the accident had been serviced 50 times. The state must be at the service of its citizens," said Kukuruz.
