The process is underway: Instructions from the Personal Data Protection Agency are awaited, and diploma verification will begin

SARAJevo, (Patria) - All employees of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina were recently asked to submit diplomas for their acquired professional qualifications, and diplomas awarded by higher and secondary educational institutions will be verified.

Kenan Vehabović, secretary of the Joint Service of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who also initiated the verification of all parliamentary employees' diplomas. He is awaiting a response from the Personal Data Protection Agency on how to comply with the law while completing the task.

- I requested the verification of diplomas for all employees in the Parliament of BiH, the highest legislative body in Bosnia and Herzegovina. My diploma is the first on the list for verification, followed by all other employees. This will not be abandoned. I am waiting for instructions from the Personal Data Protection Agency, and after that, the inspection will do its part – said Vehabović.

Forging diplomas and their misuse is a long-standing problem in BiH institutions, which only received deserved attention recently when journalists from the online magazine Žurnal revealed how high school diplomas are bought.
Following Vehabović's initiative, the Government of the Federation and the Parliament of the Federation also requested diploma verification. So far, the Council of Ministers has not commented on this issue.
