Prlić requested a reduction in fees for the Management and Supervisory Boards at the Pazarić Institute

(Patria) - Lana Prlić, a representative of the Social Democratic Party of BiH in the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament, at the Parliament session, and on the occasion of learning about the catastrophic conditions and work of the Institute for the Care of Mentally Disabled Children and Youth Pazarić, offered her assistance in finally resolving the problems.

On this occasion, Prlić visited the Institute in Pazarić yesterday with other colleagues to inform herself about the situation at the Institute.

“I submitted a parliamentary question and a proposal to the Federal Minister to reduce the fees for the Management and Supervisory Boards, following the example of Canton Sarajevo.
Members of the management and supervisory boards in Pazarić cost over 100,000 KM annually, meaning their individual fees are around 1,000 KM per month,” Prlić wrote.

The situation at the Institute is catastrophic, and the story of director Redžep Salić left no one indifferent. In a dramatic address to the federal parliamentarians, Salić stated that the Management and Supervisory Boards had cost the institute as much as 420,000 KM, while at the same time, the children were hungry.

He said that crime had been ongoing at the Institute for years, from the resale of sacrificial animals brought to the Institute by people, to children lacking heating, to a renovated building falling apart, and a lack of adequate staff to care for the Institute's wards.

The House of Representatives finally adopted a conclusion instructing the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, together with the Federal Ministry of Finance, to provide the necessary funds for heating for this Institute, and for the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy to organize a working visit to this Institute.
