Awards for members of the BiH Armed Forces for successful results in the past year

On the occasion of the celebration of December 1 - Day of the Armed Forces of BiH, a reception was held on November 30, 2015, at the Home of the Armed Forces of BiH in Sarajevo for members of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of BiH, where the Minister of Defense of BiH Marina Pendeš and the Chief of the Joint Staff of the BiH Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Anto Jeleč, presented awards to members of the BiH Armed Forces for successful results in the past year.

The reception on the occasion of the Day of the BiH Armed Forces began with the singing of the BiH anthem and a minute of silence in memory of the fallen members of the BiH Armed Forces in the terrorist attack that occurred in Rajlovac, in which two members of the BiH Armed Forces, Corporal Nedeljko Radić and Private Armin Salkić, lost their lives.

In a special address, Minister Pendeš, congratulating all members of the MoD and the BiH Armed Forces on this significant date and anniversary, emphasized the important role of the BiH Armed Forces in today's BiH society, and recalled the beginning of the defense system reform, stating that the BiH Armed Forces are an example of how, based on mutual respect, dedication, and sacrifice, necessary reforms can be implemented in BiH for the country to move forward on the path of progress and integration into Euro-Atlantic structures.

Furthermore, the Minister stated that in the future, she expects full engagement and contribution from everyone in the defense system in order to adequately face the challenges ahead of the MoD and the BiH Armed Forces, and to resolve them correctly.

The Chief of the Joint Staff of the BiH Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Anto Jeleč, during his speech at the ceremony, spoke about the key activities of the BiH Armed Forces from the beginning of the defense reform in BiH to the present day. He expressed satisfaction with the achievements of the members of the BiH Armed Forces in the past decade and expressed hope that the BiH Armed Forces will continue to work to the pride of the entire population of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to whom they have provided assistance countless times.

Minister Pendeš and Chief Jeleč congratulated all awarded and commended individuals, whose names were read during the reception, expressing their belief that these awards will provide them with greater motivation for further self-improvement and professional performance of their duties.

In addition to the awarded and commended members of the MoD and the BiH Armed Forces, the reception was attended by the highest officials of the Ministry of Defense and the Joint Staff of the BiH Armed Forces.
