Work on the pedestrian zone - Sarajevo Carpet nearing completion

(Patria) - Workers of the public utility company KJKP "Park" have started horticultural landscaping of the promenade "Pedestrian Zone Sarajevo Carpet".

So far, 18 hornbeam trees have been planted, along with numerous ornamental shrubs and seasonal flowers. As part of the horticultural landscaping project, it is planned that along the promenade, the concrete planters will be enriched with 304 Berberis shrub seedlings, 107 Juniperus shrub seedlings, 45 Euonymus shrub seedlings, and 18 hornbeam trees.

Around the Monument to the Murdered Children of Besieged Sarajevo 1992-1995, planting of 200 Buxus boxwood seedlings and 1000 seasonal flower seedlings is planned.

Workers of the construction company "ITC" d.o.o. Zenica are nearing completion of the reconstruction of the promenade "Pedestrian Zone – Sarajevo Carpet".

The goal of this project is to provide a safe and visually appealing walkway with accompanying infrastructure in the urban center of the city. The project concept description states that by combining several types of stone slabs and greenery along the promenade, a unique surface – a "carpet" – is created, which is why the project was named "Sarajevo Carpet".
