Pressure on local media: SDA attempts to take over RTV Visoko

Party of Democratic Action councilors in the Visoko Municipality council have initiated a motion to dismiss the Supervisory Board of the local Radio-Television Visoko and appoint a new Supervisory Board. The new Supervisory Board has the authority to dismiss the television director and appoint a new one, writes Patria.

The SDA still does not have sufficient support from other parties in the Municipal Council for this initiative.

Opposition parties claim that behind the attempt to dismiss the current management of RTV Visoko is the president of the SDA Municipal Organization and the party's candidate for mayor in the upcoming elections, Halim Zukić. They claim that Zukić is trying to take control of the local radio-television, which would be a great help to him in the pre-election campaign, which lasts for just over 20 days.

The current mayor of Visoko, Amra Babić, enjoys great public support, and it will be difficult to win this position against her. The SDA counts on establishing control over Radio-Television Visoko to be of great benefit to their candidate in the elections on October 2nd.

Amra Babić also came to lead Visoko as an SDA candidate, but she left the party a few months ago due to disagreements with the local SDA policy. She is running for a new term as an independent candidate, writes Patria.
