Preparations for the 23rd anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide: 6,575 victims buried so far

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Preparations are well underway for the 23rd anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks in the "UN Safe Area Srebrenica" from July 1995. So far, 27 victims have been identified who will be buried on July 11. 

At the Memorial Center in Tuzla, there are 52 identified persons, which are incomplete bodies, and the Organizing Committee has appealed to families to give consent for the identified persons to be buried and find their peace.

In the cemetery of the Memorial Center in Potočari, 6,575 victims of the genocide have been buried so far, and 235 victims of the genocide have been buried outside Potočari in local cemeteries, according to the wishes of their families.

As part of the commemoration of the genocide anniversary, among other things, an exhibition will be held with 160 pictures of personalities and dignitaries who have visited Potočari in past years.

"Peace March 2018" is one of the largest activities within the commemoration of the genocide anniversary, and the chairman of the subcommittee for the Peace March, Munir Habibović, says that preparations for this year's march are proceeding according to plan.
