Election preparations: Komšić and Nikšić begin talks on joint mayoral candidates

The leaderships of SDPBiH and Democratic Front last week began concrete talks on the joint participation of these two parties in the 2016 Local Elections if they are not postponed, writes the Patria News Agency.

The DF delegation, which included Sifet Podžić, Dubravko Barbarić, and Samer Rešidat, was led by president Željko Komšić, and the SDP delegation by its leader Nermin Nikšić and Saša Magazinović.

- This is about concretizing a long-standing idea of uniting the left. Now, after both parties have resolved their internal elections, it is being operationalized. We are talking about having joint candidates for mayors, with each party having its own lists for councilors. This is the first phase, and then in the second phase, agreements will be made regarding the names of candidates for mayoral positions, Podžić told Patria.
