Preparations for the Champion's Welcome: Kakanj Unveils Billboard with Message "Amel Tuka Pride of BiH"

In the city center of Kakanj, where the biggest welcome for the world's fastest 800-meter runner Amel Tuka will be held in a few days, a large billboard has been placed with the message "Amel Tuka Pride of Bosnia and Herzegovina".

The Municipality states that preparations for Tuka's welcome are intensive, and the people of Kakanj are preparing several surprises for Tuka, which will remain a secret until his arrival in BiH.

The Mayor of Kakanj Municipality, Nermin Mandra, said that Amel deserves a dignified welcome, and therefore his hometown will do everything to ensure the champion is welcomed as such.

- Save your voices for the welcome so we can greet him thunderously, prepare your palms for a strong applause, carry love for Kakanj and the homeland BiH in your hearts, because he will do the same – Mandra conveyed and invited Bosnians and Herzegovinians from all over "our beautiful and only homeland BiH to attend the champion's welcome in Kakanj en masse."

Tuka is currently the world's fastest 800-meter runner. In just four days, he won two gold medals at competitions in Monaco and Switzerland. At the prestigious Diamond League on July 17th, with a time of 1:42.51 in the 800 meters, he captivated all athletics fans, achieved the 10th best result of all time in athletics, and broke his personal and Bosnian and Herzegovinian records.

His parents live in Kakanj, and the Mayor of Kakanj, Nermin Mandra, along with the Mayor of Zenica, Husein Smajlović, are among the few politicians in the country who support the champion.

The exact date of Tuka's spectacular welcome in Kakanj will be announced later. Local authorities explain that it will be August 9th or 10th.
