Members of the so-called Islamic State threaten Obama and Hollande

In a video released by militants in Iraq, IS - Islamic State - boasts about the recent attacks in Paris in which 129 people were killed. They now threaten an attack on the White House:

- We will blow it up, just as we blew up idols in our country - said one of the masked militants in this video.

The militants then threaten new attacks "on French monuments".

The video was released a day after IS released footage from New York. The footage suggests attacks on this American city.

FBI Director James Comey said on November 19 that there is no "credible" threat of an attack in the US like the attacks on Paris. State Department spokesman John Kirby said that the "authenticity" of the video material is currently being assessed.

- All of us in the US Government take such threats seriously - said Kirby.

The video begins with a clip from TV news about the attacks in Paris, and then shows two militants speaking separately to the camera. They titled the video "Paris before Rome", and it shows ISIS fighters threatening to destroy French monuments and promising an attack on the White House. They also threaten US President Barack Obama and French President Francois Hollande.

- We will burn them with belts and car bombs - they said at the end of their threats.
