DKPT members conduct two demonstration exercises

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Two tactical-demonstration exercises were held at the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina (DKPT), attended by DKPT Director Mirsad Vilić and the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić.

Zvizdić expressed satisfaction with the visit to the Directorate, which, as he stated, represents one of the most important links in the police structure of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- The Council of Ministers has been committed to the security and stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the very beginning, and that is why police and intelligence agencies were the first for which we increased the budget and met their needs in terms of procuring necessary material and technical resources. A few months ago, we finally fulfilled our promise and increased salaries, which were unacceptably low compared to police officers at other levels of government – Zvizdić said.

He added that the Directorate performs its work professionally and correctly, and that it is one of the best agencies at the state level.

- We will continue with the implementation of the project for the permanent accommodation of the Directorate in terms of securing premises that will be owned by the Directorate. We have already secured three million KM from the clearing debt funds. This project is one of the priorities in our investment program for the next three years. This year and in the coming years, funds will be secured through which we will purchase the condominium parts of this building where the Directorate is already located – said Chairman Zvizdić.

Zvizdić emphasized that the members of the Directorate are people of high professional and moral qualities, and that the Directorate meets all standards.

- What awaits us is to finally establish a contact point within the Directorate, not only for Interpol but also for Europol. We will do that very soon, as soon as this strange pre-election atmosphere passes. In all future budgets, as in this one, we will firmly stand behind the police and security agencies of Bosnia and Herzegovina in terms of increasing the budget or meeting their demands, because we consider the fight against crime, corruption, extremism, terrorism, issues of stability, security, and strengthening the rule of law to be among the most important tasks facing not only this but also all future Councils of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Zvizdić said.

Director of the Directorate Mirsad Vilić said that the members of the Directorate are constantly working on improving their capacities.

- DKPT members, in cooperation with other agencies, provide added value, helping other police officers, i.e., agencies, to perform their duties and tasks within their competencies as efficiently as possible. In this way, we create a security environment, not only for citizens within Bosnia and Herzegovina but also beyond.

The mission and vision of the Directorate is to reach the level of neighboring countries through the constant renewal of material and technical resources and training, i.e., to adopt the best practices so that in the event of certain crises of any kind, we can adequately and professionally respond to challenges – said DKPT Director Mirsad Vilić.
