Who would remember today what happened in Sarajevo on December 10, 2022. Nobody, because we live in a time when life is some kind of party and we are some drugged audience that consumes this life faster than sports cars. Events are changing, information is produced by the second, so often yesterday's fraudsters and liars become today's hopes for a better tomorrow.
Such is the story of Our Party and their principles from December 10, with which they tried to throw dust in the eyes of the citizens of this country. Back then, the party leaders Edin Forto and Sabina Ćudić announced that they would not join the state government unless the following principles were respected: "Unblocking and accelerating processes, accession to the EU, commitment of all political subjects to opening negotiations with the EU after obtaining candidate status in accordance with the 8 recommendations of the European Commission, adequate organization and financing of state institutions, improvement of the electoral process integrity and its transparency, fulfillment of the necessary conditions for withdrawing significant funds from European funds, and that the state-level government consists of a programmatic coalition."
However, Our Party entered the government even though only a small segment of their principles was accepted, and the larger part was trampled as if they never existed. The EU gave them a boost, Schmidt imposed some regulations, and the state government is so much in line with the principles that we haven't even managed to withdraw the funds awaiting us because Our Party's partners in the state government couldn't agree on who does what and how.
Two years later, on the eve of the election campaign for the Local Elections, Our Party, as a demonstrably unprincipled political group, decided to once again disguise itself with principledness. They lied to voters in the 2022 elections. Their slogan in those elections was "Our Country", and they did not even try to stop Milorad Dodik's attacks on Bosnia and Herzegovina at any point. They didn't dare, or they were sorry for their positions, let the voters judge.
And then, in 2023, at the party's Congress, they adopted a Manifesto in which, among other things, they stated: "The focus of the vision is primarily the individual, the citizen, who freely realizes all their individual potentials in their country, rich in history and resources." How much they care about the Manifesto is best shown by the positioning of Duška Jurišić, who, from the position of Deputy Minister for Human Rights and Refugees, played the role of HDZ's political brother, and with an agent without accreditation, Monika Mijić, overturned the "Kovačević vs. BiH" verdict, which was ruled in favor of the citizens for whom NS "advocates".
In the aforementioned Manifesto, it is also written: "Unfortunately, ruling nationalist political and other oligarchies have been competing for decades in convincing Bosnians and Herzegovinians about the impossibility of living together, while simultaneously manifesting an idyllic unity in sharing the spoils".
Imagine that, and their partners at the time of adopting the Manifesto are Dragan Čović and Milorad Dodik, the leaders of wartime political goals. And Our Party, unlike those they accuse, doesn't even engage in discussions with those partners, but listens and executes for their share of the spoils.
And here we are, 20 months after the December principles of the Our Party members, it's time for a new propaganda game with the citizens of BiH. Our Party, after 20 months of governing with Čović and Dodik, after Vukoja, after jobs for Dodik's son, after Jurišić… is trying to pass itself off as opposition to the government it participates in. They didn't go to the meeting with Čović, and then they told us that Dragan Mioković will not put anything agreed upon on the agenda of the FBiH Parliament. Oh, please, Komšić would say. Do the "wizards" of propaganda from Our Party really think we are all idiots and don't know that the agenda of sessions is supplemented by proposals from deputies or deputy clubs. Therefore, whatever Mioković doesn't put on the agenda, HDZ and/or SDP will. And then Our Party, like NiP, will have to vote for it, because Čović will condition them with positions and interests.
Given that the Our Party members have tasted the sweetness of power and are aware that it will be difficult to repeat this in the future, I am sure, and time will tell, that this threat from Mioković, as well as from Sabina Ćudić, is just a trace in time of how unprincipled interest groups – political parties – can be.
And a political project that emerged as a kind of rebellion of cultural figures and their environment, and then grew into an outpost of foreign interests and local opportunists who looked at positions with wide-open eyes and grabbed them, cannot have principles and serious foundations for political action.
Especially not if they offer themselves as a change towards social liberalism, while playing for separatist projects and agreeing to be a factor in the killing of human rights! Perhaps it worked, I think for too long, but I am sure it will not last much longer!
