While digging a grave, bones wrapped in a blanket were found: Remains of one victim exhumed in Foča

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The remains of one victim of the past war were exhumed today in the area of Foča, in the Patkovina cemetery.

It is assumed that the found remains could belong to a victim of Bosniak nationality who perished in this area in 1992.

The skeletal remains were found while digging a grave, as part of the preparations for the funeral of a deceased person in this area. Workers digging the grave came across bones wrapped in a military blanket. The victim was wearing clothes, specifically trousers and a shirt.

After the exhumation, the remains were transferred to the Center for Autopsy and Identification, where an autopsy will be performed, and bone marrow samples will be taken for DNA analysis to determine the victim's identity.

The exhumation was led by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, by order of the Court of BiH.
