Reception and Award Ceremony for Bruce Dickinson, Iron Maiden Frontman

(Patria) - The observance of April 6th – Sarajevo City Day will feature numerous sports and cultural events, and the program of observance began yesterday, April 5th. This evening, starting at 8 PM, a formal session of the City Council will be held where the highest awards of the City of Sarajevo will be presented.

This April 6th will also mark the first anniversary of the renewed Trebević Cable Car's operation. The director of JP "Sarajevo", Esad Tanović, stated that they are approaching one million individual rides, and as of April 2nd, they had achieved more than 920,000 individual rides.

A reception and conference will be organized in the City Hall for the presentation of the award Honorary Citizen of the City of Sarajevo to Bruce Dickinson, the frontman of the band Iron Maiden, in the City Hall.

On Sarajevo's birthday, the Museum "Walter Defends Sarajevo" will be opened. A program for children titled "Is It Just a Dream?" will be held at the Youth Center in Skenderija starting at 1 PM.

From April 8th to 13th, the exhibition "Streets of My City" by students of the Sarajevo School of Applied Arts will be open at the Roman Petrović Gallery. The exhibition "Postage Stamps and Old Postcards from the Collections of Sarajevo Collectors" will be open for two more days at the Gazi Husrev-beg Library.

Sports activities began on March 30th with the swimming meet "Sarajevo with Love," and in the coming days, tournaments in wrestling, shooting, basketball, football, bowling, chess, judo, karate, rhythmic gymnastics, Steleksijada, and a sports review for high school students will be held.

On Sarajevo's birthday, flowers will be laid at memorials and graves, and at 11 AM, a personal performance by students of the Faculty of Philosophy will take place from Sebilj to BBI.
