The Union for Sustainable Return announced that BiH is unexpectedly facing tomorrow's World Refugee Day with another 85,000 homeless people who have been temporarily or permanently displaced due to floods and landslides. It is known that 43,000 people have been waiting for the reconstruction of war-torn property for 20 years, reports Patria.
"Thanks to the experiences in countries that have been affected by such disasters, the international community is offering such a model for urgent and rapid resolution to BiH through already operational funds," the Union stated.
The Union for Sustainable Return and Integration in BiH wishes to send a message and a request to all political representatives not to misuse this disaster for the purpose of the already started election campaign. When the complete situation on the ground is considered, BiH expects a large humanitarian task, not futile political campaigns that offer no solutions.
Due to the alarming situation, the Union will not organize any events to mark World Refugee Day, but hundreds of our volunteers will be on the ground in the 29 most affected municipalities in BiH, the Union announced, reports Patria.
