31 years ago, aggressors killed three boys playing in front of their building

(Patria) - Two shells fired from an aggressor position around Sarajevo on April 27, 1993, killed three boys playing in front of their building at Jukićeva Street 132: Vedran Milas (1979), Amel Terahija (1979), and Sakib Smajić (1977). In lasting memory of the tragically killed boys, the Association of Parents of Murdered Children of Besieged Sarajevo 1992-1995 organized a laying of flowers today at the site, next to the memorial plaque erected by the Association.

On behalf of the Centar Municipality, flowers were laid and due respect was paid by the Head of the Department for Veterans and Disability Protection of the Centar Municipality, Adis Adilović, along with councilors of the Centar Municipal Council.

Students of the VIII grade of the Elementary School „Mehmed-beg Kapetanović Ljubušak“ attended the laying of flowers and paying of respects to the killed boys, accompanied by their professor Mirza Zeković.

The President of the Association of Parents of Murdered Children, Fikret Grabovica, stated on the occasion that children who come to pay their respects should always be taught that the dreams of former students of their school were cut short at this spot during carefree childhood play, and that such an event must never be forgotten.

In memory of the children killed in Sarajevo during the siege, the Association of Parents of Murdered Children of Besieged Sarajevo 1992-1995 has erected 17 memorial plaques in the Sarajevo Canton, while the City and the Government of Sarajevo Canton financed the erection of about 15 memorial plaques in honor of Sarajevo's innocently perished youngest residents.
