69 Parties and 23 Independent Candidates Registered, 20 Candidates for BiH Presidency

The deadline for submitting applications for the General Elections 2014 expired at 4:00 PM. By that time, 69 parties and 23 independent candidates had submitted their applications, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

The largest number of applications was submitted today, the last day of the deadline. As many as 50 parties registered for the General Elections today. Among others, applications were submitted by the Party of Democratic Action, the Social Democratic Party, the Democratic Front – Željko Komšić, SBB-Fahrudin Radončić, the Serb Democratic Party, the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats - SNSD - Milorad Dodik, the Croatian Democratic Union, the Croatian Democratic Union 1990...

Out of 69 political parties, 16 applied for all levels of government. Thus, candidates for the BiH Presidency will be from SDP, SDA, SBiH, HDZ, HDZ 1990, HSP, DF, SBB, SDS, SNSD...

For the Bosniak member of the Presidency, 4 independent candidates have applied. These are Dr. Mustafa Cerić, who submitted his application yesterday, Mirsad Kebo, the current Vice President of the FBiH, Adil Žigić, and Halil Tuzlić. This makes a total of 20 candidates for the three members of the BiH Presidency.

Interestingly, applications from 23 independent candidates were submitted yesterday (6 applications), and seventeen today, writes Patria.

In accordance with the Instruction on deadlines and the order of electoral activities, the Central Election Commission of BiH will, by June 14, verify the submitted applications and certify the participation in the elections of political parties and independent candidates who meet the legally prescribed conditions.
