Pending reports: Can prosecutors charge Zubac, Lukač, and Ćosić?

On April 21, the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina received the record of the suspect's examination, Goran Zubac, Director of SIPA, as part of the investigation into negligence in office, which fulfilled the formal condition for filing an indictment against Zubac.

However, this has not been done to date, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH confirmed to the Patria News Agency.

- The investigation in the case concerning the suspect Goran Zubac is in its final phase, and a prosecutorial decision will be made soon – the BiH Prosecutor's Office told NAP.

Such an answer from this institution has been coming for a long time, and we remind that the Prosecutor's Office of BiH itself waited a month for the statement of the suspect Zubac. The final decision of the prosecutor can mean two things: either they will drop the investigation, or they will file an indictment.

If the Court of BiH confirms it, Zubac will be on the defendant's bench. Opposite him, as witnesses, will be SIPA members who will confirm that Zubac ignored the requests of the former Minister of Security Fahrudin Radončić and the former Director of the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies Himzo Selimović to send the special unit of SIPA to intervene in front of the Presidency of BiH building in flames on February 7, when chaos ensued during the protests.

In the meantime, the Prosecutor's Office of KS received a report on the committed criminal offense of abuse of position against the Director of the Federal Police Administration Dragan Lukač and his deputy Samir Džeba, and the reports were submitted by SIPA, due to suspicion of illegal receipt of compensation for accommodation and utility costs, as well as illegal erasure of service record for Dragan Lukač.

Also, the Citizens' Plenum of Sarajevo Canton made a decision to file a lawsuit with the Prosecutor's Office of KS, which, among other things, demands the dismissal and accountability of the police commissioner of KS Vahid Ćosić, because, as they believe, on February 7, he acted contrary to his legal powers, i.e., he did not protect the citizens and property of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

There are many reports at the moment, but none have been concluded yet, nor has a final prosecutorial decision been made. However, as several analysts previously told NAP, such reports are activated from drawers when a favorable political moment arises for settling scores with dissidents.
